About

Alan Sladek began fishing with his father and grandfather on family ponds in South Central Texas as a small child.  In 1992, after he married his college sweetheart, this family tradition became his passion.   He began fishing with his father-in-law, who was an excellent angler, and became a student of the sport.  Alan soaked up the tactics, nuances and wisdom of the elder fisherman and began participating in local tournaments.

In 2010, Alan began kayak fishing.  He officially joined the kayak bass fishing community in 2011. “I love to kayak fish because it allows me to catch some quality fish in areas that are impossible to get into with a conventional fishing set up,” says Alan, “I thrive on the heightened competition that they kayak provides.”  He enjoys teaching and working with people and sharing the knowledge that he has absorbed from his father, grandfather and father-in-law.  Kayak fishing is enjoying a surge in popularity and Alan is committed to promoting the sport along with the healthy lifestyle that kayaking supports.
